Amêndoa Coberta de Moncorvo a um passo de conseguir IGP

Desconhece-se a origem concreta da Amêndoa Coberta de Moncorvo, alguns autores remontam à origem judaica no concelho. O que é certo é que este produto é o ex-libris da vila de Torre de Moncorvo e que o processo de Indicação Geográfica Protegida (IGP) está quase concluído.

A IGP é uma certificação oficial regulamentada pela União Europeia atribuída a produtos gastronómicos ou agrícolas tradicionalmente produzidos numa região e que garante que os produtos foram produzidos na região que tornou conhecidos e cujas características, qualidade e modos de confecção estejam de acordo com as tradições que os fizeram famosos.

No caso da Amêndoa Coberta de Moncorvo este processo foi iniciado pela Confraria da Amêndoa do Douro Superior mas passado quase um ano foi-lhes dito que a Confraria não podia ser a promotora dessa candidatura. Foi exigido que a candidatura fosse submetida por um agrupamento de produtores de amêndoa e de amêndoa coberta de Moncorvo. “Esse agrupamento foi criado e pegando no que a Confraria já tinha elaborado submeteu a candidatura,     embora, todos os dias apareça uma burocracia nova. Com o apoio do Gabinete ao Investidor da Câmara Municipal de Moncorvo já estamos quase no fim do processo e conto que ainda este ano a Amêndoa Coberta de Moncorvo tenha IGP”, refere o vice Grão-mestre da Confraria da Amêndoa do Douro Superior, Joaquim Morais.

It was a sign of things to come for the Chicago Bears, whether in the near or distant future.

Labeled the third-team quarterback and a developmental project at the outset of training camp, rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky took snaps with the second team on Wednesday as the Bears completed a full week of practices.

Trubisky blamed himself for the fumbles, although they came with different players at center. One of the concerns over Trubisky heading into the draft was his inexperience taking direct snaps from center, because he played in the shotgun in college.

”It was frustrating because that was uncharacteristic of me and I’ve just got to handle that,” Trubisky said. ”They were just wasted plays and I was kind of frustrated because I kind of wasted a team session right there and I didn’t allow myself or my teammates to get better.
